Monsters roam the halls and floors of the Tower. They are rare in the daytime, but all too common at night. The only places a monster cannot enter, unless otherwise noted for a plot, are the dormitory rooms and bathrooms--though they can wander the dormitory halls, they will not do so during the day. Monsters may be from the Tower's universe or they may be from the characters' universes.

The danger scale ranges from zero to ten, with zero being harmless and ten being completely invincible and highly dangerous. Note this only refers to its ability to kill you, and not its ability to cause emotional trauma. A rating of N/A means the monster is not seen during this time of day or night.
Not all monsters appear during the day. All monsters that do have a RARE rarity rating during the day.

Description: Sometimes, at night, you'll notice something's just not right about your shadow. That's because it's not your shadow any longer, but a Shadow. Once you've noticed that its movements don't quite match yours, it will open its eyes - they glow eerily, and one will feel compelled to stare into them and not do so much as move a muscle. Do that, however, and the Shadow will draw itself up before you and make a slicing motion across your neck. This frees the Shadow from you, and you have until daylight to find a way to recapture it; should it still be separated from you when the sun rises, you will die a horribly painful death in the manner you fear most. That's not all you have to worry about, however; while it's loose, it will seek to forcibly remove the shadows of other people by dragging their shadows away by the neck, and if it succeeds the target will collapse, dead of a snapped neck. These other Shadows will then seek out more victims, and will disappear when the sun rises. The only way to recapture one's Shadow is to somehow manage to burn it to death - easier said than done because it can so easily vanish and reappear by escaping into any other shadows - and then ingest the ashes. If you only go it halfway, and burn the Shadow but do not ingest its ashes, you will burn up from the inside out at sunrise.
