Jobs
Characters may have jobs within the Tower; they can either volunteer for this job via filling out a form and placing it in a suggestion box in the cafeteria or they may be assigned a job by the Tower, simply receiving papers telling them about their job one morning. If a character is assigned a job, they will receive a letter on their nightstand explaining where they must report, and the basic idea of the job they must complete. Failure to attend their job more than twice a week without an excuse will result in punishment. You may select your job yourself or have the moderators select one for your character. Please reply to the appropriate comment thread to place your character in a job.

RANDOM PLACEMENT
CULINARY ASSISTANT
Duties: It's your job to help out in the kitchen. Specifically, you have to place the food in the oven and then place it out for everyone to eat. The oven is massive, you can walk into it, and are expected to do so to place food inside. Of course, it closes on a timer, so make sure you're out within ten seconds of hearing the warning beep.

WINDOW WASHER
Duties: You're just washing windows, how hard is that? Of course, you will be suspended from a rope outside, and you must wash every window from the top to the bottom before being hauled back up. The rope is secure enough but what about your harness? Falling is surely a big risk. You'll never dip below the fog, so who knows how far you'll fall? Characters will be granted special access to an elevator for purposes of being moved outside to wash windows; all powers are nullified outside the tower walls.

JANITOR
Duties: You have to clean the bathrooms. It's not a horrible task, just make sure that none of your skin is exposed. It seems they forgot to dilute the chemicals they gave you, or did it on purpose for efficiency, and contact with your skin will lead to chemical burns. Breathing the fumes for too long starts to make you weaker, and will kill you if you keep doing it, so get in and get out fast.

Re: JANITOR
MAID
Duties: Cleaning, Dusting, the basics are simple. It's when you get to the sheets and blankets that things get dicey. The water in the washer is boiling hot, no matter if it's the first or twentieth load, and it tends to splash. The dryer is always hot to the touch and then after all that, you have to take it back to the rooms and put them on the beds. Don't forget the hospital corners.
NURSE
Duties: You're put to work organizing new boxes of medicine on the shelves. Bottles are simple, but it's the several boxes of syringes that could provide a problem. Every one comes filled with medicine--for efficiency--and unwrapped. Keep a delicate touch on them, who knows what you might be sticking yourself with otherwise.
Well, obviously...

LIBRARIAN
Duties: You organize and put away books. Maybe it's a bit dull, except that the books always tower high on their carts, and if you aren't quick about emptying them the next cart will only be piled higher. Getting crushed by the mystery section would be a terrible way to go, you know?

SECURITY OFFICER
Duties: Your job is to patrol the floors to make sure they're safe, and then input a code on a security box by the door to signify you've checked the area. You have five minutes per assigned floor; if you don't check in, well, you must be the one causing trouble, and they'll just have to eliminate you--you will explode where you stand.

POOL CLEANER
Duties: Your job is to clean the pool, but they're not going to empty it for you--you'll be given a scrub brush and an oxygen tank lasting ten minutes. Time yourself carefully, and don't get lost in those tunnels!

MORGUE WORKER
Duties: You have to clean the cold chambers of the morgue. You will be assigned certain chambers and must clean them inside and out--and that will require climbing inside to get at the inner corners. The chambers have a bad habit of closing and locking people inside if they linger too long, where freezing to death will follow quickly--maybe you should bring a friend to keep an eye on you.

Re: MORGUE WORKER
SHOPKEEPER: DOLLS
Duties: It's your job to maintain the dolls and puppets on this floor. Dust them, clean them, make sure they always look their best! If one ends up on the floor with blood all over it, you'd better see to it that it's cleaned. Of course, you have to deal with the whispering of the puppets and dolls as long as you're on this floor, and if you ever stop a child from taking a doll you'll be torn to pieces, but this is a pretty quiet occupation.
GARBAGE DUTY
Duties: It's your job to collect the trash throughout the Tower and shove it into the incinerator. It involves a lot of legwork, but it shouldn't be too difficult. Just don't let any of the trash roll out onto you once it's all on fire and don't fall into the incinerator.

POSTAL WORKER
Duties: Accept mail, sort it, and then deliver it to the post office boxes! This job is pretty straightforward, really. Make sure you deliver everything to the right place, though, or you'll start receiving threatening letters. Keep the mail fraud up and you'll end up chopped up and delivered in pieces to each person who lost mail because of you.
Re: POSTAL WORKER
CIRCUS PERFORMER
Duties: You have to perform in the circus, of course! You may be assigned to trapeze, beast taming, or anything else you can imagine--except clown. You'll never be assigned to be a clown, sorry. The danger in this job is pretty obvious: they don't assign your task based on your skills. Better hope you can learn the tightrope fast.

BALL PIT CLEANER
Duties: You'll be given a suit attached to a cord attached to the staircase. It's now your job to dive down and retrieve dead bodies from beneath the ball bit ocean. Make sure you don't fall out of your suit and that the cord doesn't get cut, or you'll be joining the corpses.

JAILER
Duties: You've been assigned to watch the jail. You'll be given certain hours and for that amount of time you must be watching floor forty-three. You can't let anyone who's in a cell out while you're on your shift, or you'll end up in a cell in their place. The night shifts are especially dangerous, of course, and it seems like those are assigned more often than anything else.
no subject
GRAVEKEEPER
Duties: Maintain the graves on this floor--make sure they're clean, upright, and any flowers placed near them receive regular water and care. This floor tends to attract supernatural occurrences; you'll see ghosts and hear voices often. If you shirk your duties or are caught by a ghost you'll end up buried alive in a grave.
